Knock Knock English schools are growing, therefore, yes, we are hiring!
We are looking for full-time teachers who are furiously passionate about teaching and learning, and who thrive on being part of a small (but always growing!) school.
Knock Knock English is based in Tokyo (Setagaya-ku at Chitosefunabashi Station on the Odakyu line). The majority of our nearly 200 students are 2-12 years old. We also teach adult as well as baby classes, and we send our teachers to a number of preschools to teach English. These positions involve teaching at our base eikaiwa at Chitosefunabashi and at these preschools, which are in Kanagawa-ken.
We have our own easy-to-use curriculum, and usually there is minimal preparation required for classes. Most weekends you won't be at home crafting life-sized dinosaurs, although you're more than welcome to do so, if you're so inclined. Rawr.
We are looking for teachers who are available Monday to Friday full time or Tuesday to Saturday full time. In addition, several school events throughout the year occur on Sundays. A Bachelor's degree and valid visa are required. Relevant teaching experience and flexibility with travel and scheduling are very helpful.
The starting salary will be in the range of 250,000 yen to 290,000 yen, depending on your teaching experience.

About Knock Knock English
Knock Knock English is a private English school located in the residential area of Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, about 23 minutes by train west of Shinjuku. Known for our use of music as a primary teaching tool, many of the materials used in our classes were developed by Knock Knock English teachers. You can find some of these materials at Super Simple Learning.
Knock Knock English has established high-quality lessons with low student-teacher ratios. Baby classes (0-2 year olds) are up to 6 students. Classes are no larger than 4 students for the 2-4 year olds, who attend with a parent. Five year olds and up attend class without a parent, and those class sizes are limited to 6 students. We also offer classes for adults. Currently we have nearly 200 students, and the majority of them are in elementary school.
Knock Knock English works closely with the above-mentioned Super Simple Learning and with Eastman World, which organizes study tour packages to Hawaii. Several staff members from both companies have lived and worked in Hawaii, so there is always a bit of an aloha vibe in the air!
